The MADD Canada Bursary Fund is for Canadian students who have had an immediate family member (mother, father, legal guardian, or sibling) killed in an impaired-driving related crash and are pursuing any full time education program that is approved by a provincial Ministry of Education. Bursaries of up to $2,000 can be awarded to qualifying students across Canada.

To be eligible, regular secondary school applicants must have a minimum admissions average of 80% for the Faculty they have applied to (not rounded up) and IB diploma applicants must have the IB diploma score required for admission, and college/university applicants must have a transfer GPA of 2.5 (not rounded up).

The student must demonstrate that they took an active leadership role in their Dry Grad activities associated with the prevention of drinking and driving. The LM Scholarship Program provides a $500 scholarship to a deserving student who is:

1. Currently enrolled or expects to be enrolled in a degree program (2 years of length or greater) by September.

2. A student must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and submit an answer to the essay question prior to the submission deadline.

3. A student must be a US resident or a Canadian resident and must also attend a school in Canada or the US.

Rubincam Youth Award

The Rubincam Youth Award was established in 1986 to honor Milton Rubincam, cg*, fasg, fngs, for his many years of service to the National Genealogical Society and to the field of genealogy. These awards encourage and recognize our youth as the next generation of family historians.

The awards may be given annually to a student in either one or two age categories for an appropriately prepared genealogy. Up to two honorable mentions (runners-up) may also be named in each category. The awards are announced and presented at the annual NGS Banquet at the annual NGS Family History Conference. If the winners are not present, award presentations may be made at another agreed-upon time.

Senior

High school students in grades 10–12 or between the ages of 16–18. The award winner receives a $500 cash prize, a plaque, the NGS Home Study Course, and a one-year NGS membership. Presentation details of the winning submission may appear in NGS Magazine.

Junior

Middle school students in grades 7–9 or between the ages of 13–15 years. The award winner receives a plaque, the NGS Home Study Course, and a one-year NGS membership. Presentation details of the winning submission may appear in NGS Magazine.

SPEATBC Scholarship Flyer 2016 version
SPEATBC will be awarding four scholarships this year for students in a technical Engineering related field of study. The scholarships will be for a value of $700 each. The selection criteria will be as follows:
One scholarship will be awarded to each of:
  • a post-secondary student enrolled in an engineering or technology related field of study at a recognized university, college, or technical school in BC
  • a high school student (grade 12) planning on pursuing post-secondary studies upon graduation in an engineering or technology related field of study.
  • a new immigrant (max. of 2 years since arrival in Canada) pursuing post-secondary studies in an engineering or technology related field of study.
  • A student in high school or above that has demonstrated an innovative approach towards being environmentally friendly (green initiative).
