TCF awards scholarships to deserving British Columbia students that have met adversity during their life and, in the opinion of the Student Selection Committee, demonstrated a good work ethic, tenacity, and other commendable attributes in achieving their academic and social goals; and without TCF's support may not have the means to attend a post-secondary institution

TCF estimates the total cost of an undergraduate degree from a Canadian university, college, or trade school is approximately $7,500 for books and $27,500 for tuition.  Therefore, TCF will reimburse up to a total of $35,000 for books and tuition leading to an undergraduate degree or equivalent.  This amount will be paid as reimbursements throughout the duration of the recipients' post-secondary enrollment provided that the progress of the student meets the TCF's scholarship criteria

Scholarship applications must be submitted to the student's secondary school for approval.  All applications must be endorsed by the secondary school and a letter nominating the student be attached to the application (sample letter can be found under Secondary School Resources).  TCF will accept a maximum of 2 applications per school year to participate in TCF scholarship program commencing in September of the same year.  All applications must be received via mail or submitted online no later than the last Friday in February of any particular year.   The Student Selection Committee will review all applications and select a short list of candidates to interview. Candidates will be contacted by telephone to set up an interview time on a pre-determined interview date. Final selections will be made after all interviews are completed and communicated to the candidates as soon as possible and will be conditional on the student being accepted into the post-secondary institution specified in the application for TCF Scholarship.

For applications submitted by students commencing their post-secondary education in September, please note the following information:
Application submission deadline: Last Friday in February
Interview Date: 4-8 weeks after submission deadline
