MAJOR ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA

THE PRESIDENT'S SCHOLARSHIP - $20,000
Eligibility
a) enrolling at KPU in a four year program
b) 80% average in English 12 and 3 other academic Grade 12 courses, or the equivalent of a 3.67 transfer GPA on a minimum of 24 transferable university credits
c) demonstrated leadership, community involvement and volunteerism

Conditions
a) registration in a minimum of 12 undergraduate credits per semester b) required to maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.0 for the duration of the award period

Value & Quantity
Fall Semester Intake: 4 awards; $5000 per year for up to four years
Spring Semester Intake: 2 awards; $5000 per year for up to four years (September deadline)
THE MERIT SCHOLARSHIP - $5,000
Eligibility
a) enrolling in any KPU program
b) 80% average in English 12 and 3 other academic Grade 12 courses, or the equivalent of a 3.67 transfer GPA on a minimum of 24 transferable university credits
c) demonstrated leadership, community involvement and volunteerism

Conditions
a) registration in a minimum of 12 undergraduate credits per semester b) required to maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.0 for the duration of the award period
Value & Quantity
Fall Semester Intake: 12 awards
Spring Semester Intake: 6 awards (September deadline)
THE ABORIGINAL ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIP - $5,000
Eligibility
a) must identify as Aboriginal, First Nations, Metis or Inuit b) 80% average in English 12 and 3 other academic Grade 12 courses, or the equivalent of a 3.67 transfer GPA on a minimum of 24 transferable university credits
d) demonstrated leadership, community involvement and volunteerism

Conditions
a) registration in a minimum of 12 undergraduate credits per semester b) required to maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.0 for the duration of the award period
Value & Quantity
Fall Semester Intake: 2 awards
Spring Semester Intake: 1 award (September deadline)

The Online Application is located by clicking the "Apply Here" link below and logging into the KPU Online Self-service (OSS) portal. Students require their KPU ID (student number) and password to log in. When logged in, please follow these steps:
  1. Click “Student Menu" tab
  2. Click “Student Awards and Financial Assistance”
  3. Click “Award Application”
  4. Ensuring that the Application Type you have selected is either Fall Term 2018 or Spring Term 2019 Major Entrance Scholarships & Awards, click “Apply” and begin completing the application.
  5. Important – Ensure you click “Yes” to the Terms & Conditions on the Personal Declaration page in order for your application to be successfully submitted.
  6. Hand-deliver or mail your supporting documentation package (in duplicate) on or before the application deadline.
All supporting documentation must be in duplicate (2 copies) and hand delivered or mailed to Student Awards & Financial Assistance, Room 1822 - 12666 72nd Avenue, Surrey, BC V3W 2M8. Application packages must be received no later than 4 pm on the posted deadline.

Save on Foods

Each year, Save-On-Foods partners with UFCW Local 1518 to offer ten scholarships valued at $1000 each to individuals who have played a significant role in diversity initiatives in their school and/or community.

Eligibility Criteria:

- Canadian citizens or  permanent residents of Canada who are pursuing a part-time or full-time post secondary program in BC in Fall 2018
- Demonstrated involvement in diversity initiatives in their school or community

Royal Canadian Legion

The Royal Canadian Legion, Delta Branch #61, is pleased to offer the Bursary program again this year.

Financial need is the primary basis for choosing recipients and priority is given to children, grand children or great grandchildren of veterans. We encourage all eligible students to apply, there are four bursaries and
two of which are from the Poppy Fund, are awarded. Only two of the bursaries require the student to have a family member who was/is a veteran.

A veteran is defined by the Royal Canadian Legion as "Any person who is
serving or has honorably served in the Canadian Armed Forces, the
Commonwealth or its wartime allies, or as a Regular Member of the Royal
Canadian Mounted Police, or as a Peace Officer in a Special Duty Area or on
a Special Duty Operation, or who has served in the Merchant Navy or Ferry
Command during wartime"

The primary criteria for this bursary is financial need.
