The BBG Communications scholarship is designed for students between the ages of 16 and 21 who are currently in or will be attending an institution of higher education in the Fall of 2016.

Value: $1,000

Deadline: June 30, 2016 (11:59 ET)

To be considered eligible for the BBG Communications Scholarship you must:

A) Be between the ages of 16 and 21 on June 30, 2016

B) Submit answers to the two essay questions, which can be found on the application page, prior to the June 30, 2016 deadline.

C) Have at least one full year of post secondary studies remaining at the time of the award

D) Have a GPA of 2.5 or greater.

E) Be a citizen of the United States or Canada

The scholarship winner will be announced on or around August 15, 2016 and will be posted on this website immediately after. All applications must be received by 11:59pm ET on June 30. No late applications will be reviewed.

Got a Spine Scholarship

To be eligible for the Got a Spine Scholarship a student must:
1) Be attending college or university no later than October of 2016.

2) Be attending college or university on a full-time basis by October of 2016.

3) Have achieved a GPA of 2.5 or greater during their last academic year.

4) Be a U.S. or Canadian resident.

5) Be attending a school in the U.S. or Canada by October of 2016.

6) Submit answers to the essay questions no later than 11:59 PM EST on June 2, 2016.

*Note that you can be enrolled in any field of study.

If you are a young British Columbian who has made a difference in your community, we want to hear from you! The Trevor Linden Community Spirit Scholarship rewards students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership abilities and exemplary contributions and commitment to enriching the lives of others in the community.

Who is eligible?The Trevor Linden Community Spirit Scholarship recognizes four student leaders in the province of British Columbia who are entering their first year of post secondary education, are in good academic standing and have made exceptional contributions in the following areas:
  • School and community service, leadership
  • Initiating community development
  • Affecting positive change
  • Mentoring others
  • Personal development and growth
  • Good academic performance
Taking the time to do something for others during difficult times in one’s own life requires particularly outstanding commitment. This is why, as part of the selection process, the personal circumstances and/or challenges of each applicant will be considered. Applicants who possess personal qualities such as dedication, commitment to helping others and strength of character will also be considered.

UBC Major Entrance Scholarship

UBC is looking for the most accomplished and promising Canadian citizens and permanent residents to join our community. The Major Entrance Scholarship (MES) program offers the most prestigious awards available to entering students at UBC, including a one-time award of approximately $5,000 and renewable awards of up to $40,000 payable over four years.

These scholarships recognize students who excel across the board and who have demonstrated academic and leadership achievements in the arts, community, athletics, and school. Applications are now open for the 2014-15 academic year.
Students wishing to be considered for a Major Entrance Scholarship must submit their online application by December 10. This includes paying the admission fee and completing all sections of your UBC online application.
All high school applicants will be evaluated for the Major Entrance Scholarship based on their Academic Profile and Personal Profile sections of the online application

Sleeklens Scholarship

Sleeklens is proud to announce its academic scholarship program for 2016. Three winners will each receive $2000 to will cover their academic expenses for the 2016 academic year. At Sleeklens, we believe individual effort and brilliance should be rewarded, and, because of our strong sense of community responsibility, we play a big role in giving back to the community.

The Application Process:  In order to apply for and be considered for the Sleeklens 2016 Academic Scholarship, please complete all of the following steps:

One of the least thought about uses of social media is leveraging it to get a job after college. Discuss some of the ways that you could use social media to get a job after college. What are some of the advantages and disadvantages of using social media to get a job after college?

Before submitting your application, please make sure you have provided all the necessary information. Any essay that is deemed incomplete or has grammatical, punctuation or any kind of structural errors will be disqualified.

Individual students can apply only once per year. If a single student/applicant is found to have applied more than once, all applications for that student will be disqualified.

David Lam/BC TEAL Foundation Scholarship

David C. Lam/BC TEAL ESL Scholarship was established to recognize an ESL student graduating from a B.C. Secondary School who has combined academic competence with school or community service and who wishes to further his/her education at a post-secondary institution in British Columbia.

Please note:  International students on student visas are not eligible for this award.

Criteria
  • Graduating B.C. Grade 12 student who wishes to attend a post-secondary institution in BC;
  • EAL/ESL coursework at the secondary level [grades nine to twelve];
  • Consistent improvement in academic courses at the secondary level;
  • School or community service
Application DeadlineThe application deadline for the David C. Lam ESL Scholarship is January 31st of each year. The successful recipient will be notified in writing within six weeks of the application deadline by the TEAL Charitable Foundation.
