“It’s truly amazing learning about our applicants for the Quest for Excellence Bursary Program each year,” says Marie Sheppy, Manager, Corporate Affairs, RE/MAX of Western Canada. “Their admirable attitudes and selfless actions allow them to impact their communities in a positive away.”

Sixteen winners will be selected from entries received online at remax.ca. Each winner will receive a $1,000 RE/MAX Quest for Excellence bursary. All 16 bursary recipients will be placed in a draw and one lucky student will also receive a hot air balloon ride for two from the closest major city. Our Awards: Renewable for up to four years, with a total value of $100,000, each Loran Award includes:
  • An annual stipend of $10,000

Sponsored Applications - Due October 18:  sponsored application is one that is nominated by the school. It must be submitted by October 18.
Each Canadian high school may sponsor applications for up to three students, while each CEGEP may sponsor up to eight students. Please contact your guidance counsellor, teacher or school administrator to learn about the sponsorship selection process at your school. Your school contact will need to complete a short online sponsorship form before October 18th, and they will receive the link to complete this form once your application and your reference letter are finalized.
Our 21 regional committees review the sponsored applications in their area and invite shortlisted candidates (semi-finalists) to attend interviews in their region or province. These interviews are an opportunity for semi-finalists to connect with one another, meet the local leaders who serve as our regional interviewers and gain valuable interview experience.
After regional interviews, our committees invite 60-75 outstanding semi-finalists to attend national selections in Toronto in February. Our committees also grant provincial awards and honour citations to semi-finalists who distinguish themselves at the regional level.
