Heritage Commission ScholarshipThe Heritage Advisory Commission Scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating high school student residing in Delta. This scholarship is provided in an effort to encourage students to display an interest in local or regional heritage, as demonstrated through an original piece of work. The scholarship is valued at $1,000 and is applied to a student's post-secondary studies (valid for all post-secondary institutions, including colleges, universities, technical and trade school programs, art schools, or any other career oriented coursework or program).
The Heritage Advisory Commission recognizes the importance of higher education in our mandate to promote public education and awareness in the area of local and regional heritage, conservation and preservation.

About the BursaryCMWAC is offering 4 x $500 bursaries to Grade 12 students in pursuit of full-time studies in any of the following fields: Social Work, Psychology, Nursing and Counselling. We thank all applicants for their time and effort, however, only four students will be selected to receive an award.

  • Open to Vancouver and Richmond School Districts
  • Secondary students will continue Post Secondary Studies in the Lower Mainland
  • Applicants will have the opportunity to volunteer at CMWAC

Eligibility RequirementsTo be eligible, a student must:
  • Be experiencing financial hardship
  • Have graduated from Grade 12 by August 31 of the current year and be enrolled in full-time studies in any of the following fields: Social Work, Psychology, Nursing or Counselling
    • Note: Bursaries are awarded to the selected candidates only after their proof of enrollment or continuing studies letter have been received by CMWAC
  • Submit a copy of their latest report card
  • Complete the application form:
    • Describe any extracurricular activities, hobbies and/or volunteer history in a paragraph
    • In addition to describing career objectives, research interests, and how the CMWAC bursary program will meet your career goals, the personal statement (500-700 words) Include a resume
    • The Topic is “You(th) & Mental Health”
  • Provide two letters of recommendation
  • Available to attend the award ceremony at a fundraising event

Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation Scholarship

This scholarship of $1,500.00 is awarded annually to a deserving student pursuing post secondary education that has, through his/her actions, shown a caring and compassionate nature and actively serves the community.  Certain factors have a major bearing on an applicant's success, such as participation in extracurricular activities, engagement as a volunteer and demonstrated leadership capacity.
Preference will be given to students pursuing a career in Heathcare or Philanthropy.

R.T. Reynolds Memorial Scholarship

Mr. Robert T. Reynolds, one of Delta Hospital's first presidents and a member of Delta municipality's pioneer families, made an outstanding contribution to the community during his lifetime. Very active in the furtherance of sound and progressive agricultural policies and community works, he also dedicated much time and energy towards obtaining a hospital for Delta. His dedication and perseverance in the face of many obstacles was a major factor in the construction of the fine facility we are all so proud of today.
This scholarship of $1,500.00 is awarded annually in recognition of Robert T. Reynolds' exemplary service. It is open to all Grade 12 students who reside in Delta and who intend to undertake post-secondary education in any field. Preference will be given to those students pursuing a career in healthcare.
Certain factors have a major bearing on an applicant's success, such as their participation in extracurricular activities, community volunteer activities, and academic achievement.
Eligibility: Any Grade 12 student resident of Delta who is advancing to post-secondary education may apply.
Documentation: The following documentation is required: 
1. The completed application form
2. A personal letter from the applicant detailing the chosen career, the institute selected or considering, the reason for pursuing this career and your significant contributions made to the community.
3. A copy of official senior secondary school transcript of Grade 11 and 12 mark.
4. Three letters of reference, no more than two from school
5. List of awards or certificates of achievement
6. Volunteer score sheet completed

Charlene Reaveley Bursary

Bursary Program
Making a difference in the lives of studentsThe Charlene Reaveley Children’s Charity recognizes graduating students who harbor the hope and potential for a brighter tomorrow in the face of adversity through the loss of a parent and/or sibling.
CRCCS is proud to give back by providing financial recognition to students who exemplify Charlene’s involvement in the community and/or volunteer work which encourages the youth of today to be the leaders of tomorrow. This program was inspired by Charlene’s passion for children and desire for a closer community.
All bursaries require that candidates are in good academic standing, contribute to their communities, and will be furthering their education at a post-secondary institution upon graduation. CRCCS board of directors will select the successful recipients.

To qualify for a $1000 CRCCS bursary, the student will be required to meet the criteria.  The criteria includes;
    • Grade 12 graduating student
    • Loss of a parent and/or a sibling
    • Enrolled in a certified post secondary program within the same year of graduating
    • Involved in the community/volunteer work
    • a BC Resident
    • Complete mailing address, contact information and full name of the applicant
    • Complete mailing address, contact information and the name of secondary school
    • A minimum 500 word essay on how they fit the criteria, including all contact information.

Applicants need to email or mail their completed essay with all criteria included and date stamped by April 15th of their graduating year. 
Please ensure your application is complete. 
Only complete applications are eligible for bursaries.
