YTS Scholarships For Community ServiceOne of Youth Transforming Society’s goals is to promote community volunteerism among youth. To further this goal, we have created the YTS Scholarship for Community Service. This $500 award will recognize students for their dedication and commitment to selfless service in the community. We hope to continue to celebrate the achievements of young people who have created positive change.
Eligibility CriteriaTo be considered for this award, the applicant must be:
1. A graduating, grade 12 student attending secondary school in the Lower Mainland.
2. Attending a Canadian post-secondary institution on a full time basis beginning September 2020. Proof of acceptance may be requested.
3. Actively involved in voluntary pursuits of any kind (humanitarian, environmental, etc.).
4. Minimum academic average of 70%. Proof of average may be requested.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: MAY 23, 2020 AT 11:59PM. Late applications will NOT be considered.

3. Email us your resume detailing your volunteer experience, leadership work, and any other extracurricular activities to youthtransformingsociety@gmail.com. Delta High School Field Lacrosse Scholarship Application

The Delta Lacrosse Association is pleased to offer one $500.00 Scholarship to a student graduation from any Delta Secondary School.


Scholarship Criteria: (Any or all of the listed below)
·         Must have played field lacrosse for a minimum of two years with either Delta Footman or their high school.
·         Must have volunteered as a lacrosse coach or referee.
·         Must demonstrate good sportsmanship for the game of lacrosse.
·         Must have an average or above average GPA.
Scholarship Process
·         Complete the online application and email the following required documents (PDF format) to Elizabeth Oakley - Delta Lacrosse Executive Secretary. 

Subject line   RE: Field Scholarship Application and Full Name
·         Send a copy of your last report card or school transcript.
·         Send a letter of reference from someone who can attest to your volunteer service (include a phone number).
·         Applications must be received by June 9, 2020
·         The Delta Lacrosse Association Scholarship will be awarded at the recipient’s Valedictory Ceremony.
 
Scholarship funds will be awarded upon the recipient’s proof of Post-Secondary registration in a college, University or trades training program.

Box Lacrosse Scholarship Award
Each year the Delta Lacrosse Association awards the 'Delta Lacrosse Association Box Lacrosse Scholorship Award' as we understand the importance of education.
One $500.00 Scholarship will be awarded to one graduating Delta Islanders Intermediate age player.
Scholarship Award Criteria
- Must be a second year Intermediate Player
- Must be a high school graduate with average or higher G.P.A
- Must have played Delta Lacrosse for at least one year prior to graduating season.
- Must represent good sportsmanship for the game of Lacrosse
Other Considerations
- Community and/or high school volunteer service
- Delta Lacrosse Association Service - coaching, referreeing, timekeeping
- Number of years played in Delta
Scholarship Process

Delta Fastpitch Association Scholarship Application
Application timeline: April 1st  to May 1st, 2020
Please do not submit applications prior to April 1st.

Delta Fastpitch Association invites current Delta Fastpitch players to apply for 1 of 4 Delta Fastpitch Scholarships valued at $500 each.
The scholarships will be awarded to a student who will either:
  1.  Graduate high school in the application year
  2. Who is or will be attending a postsecondary institution in the application year.
Selection Criteria:
•   Must be a current member in good standing with Delta Fastpitch
•   Years of service as an umpire, player or coach for Delta Fastpitch
•   Volunteer activities for DFA teams and/or the DFA organization
•   Degree of competence as a player, coach or umpire
•   Acceptance to a post-secondary institution
•   Continuing education aspirations
•   Copies of your last 2 years of high school grades
•   A description of how you have contributed to the betterment of the sport of softball in Delta

The successful candidate will be selected by the Scholarship Review Committee of the Delta Fastpitch Executive and must provide confirmation of acceptance to a post-secondary institution.

CLEAN ENERGY BC STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP

We are pleased to announce that we will be offering a $1,000 student scholarship this year, which will be awarded at our Annual General Meeting in June.
 
This scholarship is for grade 12 students who are graduating in 2020. To apply for the scholarship, we ask that students submit a reference letter as well as a 500-word essay answering the question, “Why is clean energy important to me as a young person in BC?”
 
The application deadline is Thursday, May 14th and we will be contacting the winner in early June. You can find more information on our website here:

Bursary Program
Making a difference in the lives of studentsThe Charlene Reaveley Children’s Charity recognizes graduating students who harbor the hope and potential for a brighter tomorrow in the face of adversity through the loss of a parent and/or sibling.
CRCCS is proud to give back by providing financial recognition to students who exemplify Charlene’s involvement in the community and/or volunteer work which encourages the youth of today to be the leaders of tomorrow. This program was inspired by Charlene’s passion for children and desire for a closer community.
All bursaries require that candidates are in good academic standing, contribute to their communities, and will be furthering their education at a post-secondary institution upon graduation. CRCCS board of directors will select the successful recipients.

To qualify for a $1000 CRCCS bursary, the student will be required to meet the criteria.  The criteria includes;
    • Grade 12  graduating student
    • Loss of a parent and/or a sibling
    • Enrolled in a certified post secondary program within the same year of graduating
    • Involved in the community/volunteer work
    • a BC Resident
    • Mailing address, phone number, email and full name of the applicant
    • Mailing address, contact information, counsellor name and email and the name of secondary school
    • A minimum 500 word essay on how they fit the criteria, including all contact information.
    • (There is no ‘application form’ to complete.  Complete an essay with how the applicant fits the criteria)

Applicants need to email or mail their completed essay with all criteria included and date stamped by   April 15th  of their graduating year.
Please ensure your application is complete. 
Only complete applications are eligible for bursaries. 
All criteria is required for a complete application.
No late applications accepted.

EFMABC BursariesThe Educational Facility Managers Association of British Columbia was pleased to award five $1,000.00 bursaries to graduates of the 2019/2020 school year. Our association is comprised of administrative and management personnel of school districts who are responsible for construction, maintenance and custodial services, etc.
These bursaries are offered to secondary students completing their grade 12 year who will enter a recognized post-secondary educational institution in the 2020/2021 term. Bursaries will be awarded on the basis of academic achievement and/or special needs.
Preference will be given to students entering the fields of engineering, architecture, or building technology. Should there not be suitable applications received in these fields, students in other courses of study will be considered, however, all applicants MUST be dependents of school district employees in the school plant area (i.e. Maintenance or Custodial).

Opportunities for Delta Grade 12 StudentsDelta Hospital and Community Health Foundation Scholarship
Since 1988, the Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation has worked with the community to raise funds to support Delta Hospital. We are the public face and philanthropic arm of Delta Hospital, raising the financial resources necessary to provide quality and innovative health care services, purchase much-needed state-of-the-art equipment, fund capital projects and building improvements, and support ongoing education of medical staff that government funding alone cannot provide.

In its second year, the Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation Scholarship of $1,500 is awarded to a deserving student pursuing a post secondary education with plans of a career in either healthcare or philanthropy. Participation in extracurricular activities, engagement as a volunteer and demonstrated leadership capacity has a major bearing of an applicant’s success.

Robert T. Reynolds Memorial Scholarship
Mr. Robert T. Reynolds, one of Delta Hospital's first presidents and a member of Delta municipality's pioneer families, made an outstanding contribution to the community during his lifetime. Very active in the furtherance of sound and progressive agricultural policies and community works, he also dedicated much time and energy towards obtaining a hospital for Delta. His dedication and perseverance in the face of many obstacles was a major factor in the construction of the fine facility we are all so proud of today.


In its twenty-third year, the Robert T. Reynolds scholarship of $1,500 is given in recognition of Mr. Robert T. Reynolds’ dedicated community leadership. The scholarship is open to all Grade 12 students residing in Delta who intend to undertake post-secondary education.

Buck Suzuki Environmental Foundation is accepting applications for our annual Buck Suzuki Legacy Bursary, valued at $1000. Students in oceans, fisheries or marine related studies at the undergraduate, graduate, or trades level are welcome to apply.   
Deadline: June 15, 2020  
Criteria: 
• Eligible candidates must be enrolled in a marine-related undergraduate, graduate, or trade program in a Canadian institution o Some examples include: marine trades, shipwright, vessel master, marine biology or ecology, fisheries science, social justice, community health sciences, or natural resource management • Preference will be given to students with family connections to the marine sectors  
Application Requirements:  Please provide a letter or video (max. 3 pages/3 minutes) addressing the following questions: • In your opinion, what is the greatest challenge facing our oceans and fisheries today? How will your studies help address these challenges and build a brighter future? • Please describe your relationship to the ocean or marine community.
 How do you interact with the marine environment?
If applicable, detail family employment in the marine sectors and/or any connection to marine industries  
Supporting documents are encouraged. Please include any letters of reference, transcripts, CV or list of accomplishments including awards, presentations, publications, work experience, public service that you feel would strengthen your application.
