Mainstage Scholarships for Secondary School Drama Students
Theatre BC and the Mainstage Host Organizing Committee are pleased to announce a provincial scholarship opportunity for drama students throughout British Columbia. Theatre BC is offering ten Mainstage Student Scholarships to be awarded to selected applicants.
All students considering pursuing theatre in any form following high school are eligible to apply. Each scholarship includes an all-access 9 Day Festival Pass for the Mainstage event. It also includes a full-guided tour of the Mainstage Theatre, 2 “Backstage at Mainstage” professionally led courses (3 hours of instruction) of their choice, a face-to-face meeting with the festival adjudicator, and a ticket to the Final Night Awards Ceremony.

Joint Diversity Scholarship

Save-On-Foods is proud to have partnered with UFCW Local 1518 to establish a Joint Diversity and Training Trust to support and maintain a respectful and positive working environment. Our goal is to work collaboratively to promote diversity awareness and build strong, healthy and mutually beneficial relationships within the diverse communities that we serve.

We help students who share this commitment by offering the Joint Diversity Scholarship. Up to ten $1,000 scholarships are available and will be awarded to applicants who have promoted diversity awareness and acceptance in their community and have not previously received the Joint Diversity Scholarship. This scholarship is available to students who are BC residents and are going to be pursuing post-secondary education at an accredited institution within the province of BC in the fall.

BCIT Entrance Award

Entrance Awards recognize academic and non-academic achievements of students entering an eligible full-time BCIT program. For a full list of BCIT entrance awards and details, refer to the list of Entrance Awards and descriptions document below.
General eligibility criteriaTo be eligible for a BCIT Entrance Award:
  • You must have applied for admission to BCIT and been assigned a BCIT ID.  You do not need to be accepted into your program.
  • Where applicable, you must meet the award-specific eligibility criteria outlined under the Eligible Program(s) and Award-specific Information sections in the list of BCIT Entrance Awards and descriptions.
  • You must be a citizen or permanent resident of Canada.
  • You must commence full-time studies (60% or more of a 100% course load) between May 1, 2023 and April 30, 2024.
  • You must remain registered as a full-time student during the academic period for which an award is given.
  • You must maintain satisfactory academic standing during the academic period for which an award is given.
  • If you are under disciplinary review or placed on a student performance contract, you may be restricted from receiving an entrance award disbursement.
  • Your entrance award application must be received at the Student Financial Aid and Awards office by 4:00 p.m. on the earliest deadline date of your selected entrance awards.
Selection criteriaAll Entrance Awards are adjudicated on a competitive basis. Selection is based on academic standing in secondary school and/or post-secondary studies. Other factors may be taken into consideration such as participation in school activities, community involvement and demonstrated leadership qualities. Where applicable, these additional criteria are listed under the Award-specific Information section in the list of BCIT Entrance Awards.
How to applyYou may apply for multiple entrance awards with a single application. On your application form, be sure to select all awards for which you meet the eligibility criteria and would like to apply.

Educational Award
Award BackgroundThe Educational Award honours Ona Mae Roy, a past president of the BCCPAC. Ona Mae Roy dedicated her life to improving the quality of life of all children through the advancement of their health, welfare, and education. In pursuing this goal, she gave strength and encouragement to all who advocate for children. It is the wish of BCCPAC and those who have contributed to this award that children will continue to benefit in memory of a valiant lady. This award is available annually.
Award CriteriaThe award is open to any Grade 12 student attending a BCCPAC-member school who is planning to pursue post-secondary studies (academic, vocational, technical or training). The award honours a well-rounded student who is involved and interested in many things and has an understanding of the importance of parent involvement in education. The recipient will receive an award in the amount $1,000.
The Educational Award Application submission deadline is February 28, 2023.

​The BC Hydro Power Pioneers annual Community Service Award recognizes students who dedicate a significant amount of their time and energy to volunteering in their local communities.
The BC Hydro Power Pioneers are recognizing youth who have excelled in community service. There are up to twenty $500 awards available throughout British Columbia.

We’re looking for students who have made outstanding contributions in their local community for a considerable amount of time or have initiated, organized or contributed significantly to a one-time project.
​

Priority will be given to students who volunteer in their local communities.
We’re looking for students who are:
  • Canadian citizens or permanent residents of BC
  • Graduating from high school in June of each year
The following information must be included with your application to be considered for this award:
  1. Completed application form (link below),
  2. 500 word essay of voluntary contributions you have made to your community,
  3. Reference letter(s) from the community organization(s) you have worked with,
  4. Reference letter from a teacher, counsellor or principal at your school,
  5. Confirmation of a passing grade,
  6. Proof of age and citizenship or status.
Please fill in, print and attach all the required information and mail in before the deadline of March 31.
Your application must be postmarked no later than March 31.
Mail it in early to avoid missing the deadline.

Wanjara Nomad Collections

Wanjara Nomad Collections has compiled an extensive collection of historical artifacts to preserve and share the history of Sikhs. This includes exploring how Sikhs perceive their past, present, and future.
As part of its efforts, Wanjara Nomad Collections is offering five scholarships worth $1,300 each to support post-secondary education for grade 12 students in British Columbia who will be attending a post-secondary institution in September 2023. These scholarships are open to all students, regardless of ethnicity, religion, or citizenship status.
Our goal is to inspire and empower students to pursue their dreams, make a positive impact on their communities and the world, and contribute to the legacy of Canada. We believe that education is the key to progress, and that young people have the power to shape the future. We are proud to offer these scholarships as a way to support and encourage the next generation of leaders.

Delta Trades & Technical Career Scholarship

The Delta Trades & Technical Career Scholarship provides Delta residents who are in their graduating year at a Delta high school, or who have graduated from a Delta high school within the past five years, an opportunity to pursue post-secondary education in the area of trades and technology.
Eligibility and Scholarship Criteria
  • Resident of Delta
  • Graduating or graduating from a Delta high school
  • Applied and accepted to attend a registered post-secondary institution, including colleges, in the field of trades and technology
  • Consideration is given to: -
    • academic achievement
    • financial needs
    • student’s community service
    • demonstrated desire to pursue a career in the field of trades and technology
Scholarship Application Checklist
  • Record of academic achievement (High School Transcript)
  • Completed scholarship application form (attached)
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Copy of resume
  • A letter describing your career choice and why
Scholarship Description
  • Five - $2,000.00 Scholarships
  • One scholarship awarded per approved applicant
  • Awarded upon written confirmation of program attendance (end of the first semester) at a registered post-secondary institution
Applications are accepted between September 1 and March 31. The deadline for applications is 4:30 pm March 31. Awards are adjudicated on a competitive basis. All approved applicants will be notified in writing by June 15.
