Students who demonstrate superior academic ability, creative and original thinking, involvement in school or community activities, and proven leadership qualities can apply for a major admission award. Financial need is also a consideration for some of our major admission awards. The seven specific awards are:

  • Chancellor's Scholarship
  • Chernoff Family Award
  • Chernoff Family Award (Quebec)
  • Dr. Iris May Marsh Memorial Award
  • Bank of Montreal Award
  • D & R Sobey Atlantic Scholarship
  • Melvin R. Goodes Entrance Award
You may apply for one or all of these awards by submitting a single Major Admission Award Application. The deadline to submit your application to the Student Awards Office is December 1, 2013.  (We will accept applications received on Monday, December 2, 2013)

If financial need is a criterion of a major admission award you are interested in applying for, you must submit an Admission Bursary Application in addition to the Major Admission Award Application. The Admission Bursary Application will be available on your SOLUS Student Center.

Apply for admission to Queen's through the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC) prior to the Major Admission Award Application deadline. If you are unable to apply for admission online through OUAC prior to December 1 (i.e. you have not received your PIN number from you high school), you can still apply for a major admission award, and the application must still be submitted by December 1).
