Delta Agricultural Advisory Committee Scholarship and Delta Heritage  Commission Scholarship

​The City of Delta is offering two scholarships opportunities, the Heritage Scholarship and    Agricultural Advisory Committee Scholarship.  

The Heritage Scholarship is a $2, 000 scholarship.  It is an annual scholarship awarded to a high school student living in Delta.  Eligibility and criteria for the scholarship are:
  • Be a Delta resident
  • Grade 12 student attending a Delta high school
  • Submitted an original project which document local and regional heritage.  This could include the following: text, visual art or craft, web design, audio or video production, interactive game and stage or theatrical presentation

Steam Horizon Awards

Are you often described as a leader, an achiever, or an innovator? Do you have limitless drive, ambition, and determination? If so, there’s an opportunity to receive a $25,000 prize towards your post-secondary education.
Founded in 2016, the STEAM Horizon Awards presented by Ingenium – Canada’s Museums of Science and Innovation and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada invite Canada’s youth to promote positive changes throughout their community using science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM).
Winners will be awarded a $25,000 prize for their post-secondary education. Two of the five prizes will go to Indigenous youth. We are confident that these recipients will act as role models and ambassadors for future STEAM generations.

Western University National Scholarship Program

National  Scholarship Program

National  Scholarships are designed to recognize all-round excellence. They are awarded on the basis of outstanding academic performance to candidates who demonstrate ability for creative and innovative thought and a passion for the pursuit of learning. National Scholarships also recognize exceptional achievement in extracurricular activities such as the arts and athletics. A special emphasis is placed on a candidate's commitment to community service through ongoing contributions to school and community life.

President’s Entrance Scholarships
1 at $70,000 ($25,000 for year one, $15,000 annually for years two to four)
4 at $65,000 ($20,000 for year one, $15,000 annually for years two to four) and;
Up to 15 at $50,000 ($20,000 for year one, $10,000 annually for years two to four)

Beryl Ivey Continuing Entrance Scholarship
ONE at $72,000; payable $18,000 per academic year for a period of four years.

International President's Entrance Scholarships
3 at $50,000 ($20,000 for year one, $10,000 annually for years two to four)

Faculty Entrance Scholarships
Up to 15 at $30,000 ($12,000 for year one, $6,000 annually for years two to four)

National Scholarship Study Abroad Awards
Up to 39 at $2,500 for up to 4 months (one term), $5,000 for over 4 months (more than one term)

National Merit Awards
Those students who are interviewed for a National Scholarship but not offered a National Scholarship or a Schulich Leader Scholarship and accepting an offer of admission to main campus will receive a one-year National Merit Award valued at $2,000. Recipients will also retain eligibility for an Admission Scholarship ranging in value from $2,500 to $8,000.

 Note: Students in receipt of a National Scholarship or a Schulich Leader Scholarship are not eligible to receive a Western Scholarship of Excellence, Western Scholarship of Distinction, Western Admission Scholarship, Western International President's Scholarship, Western International Provost’s Scholarship or a Western International Scholarship.

Mitchell Slater Scholarship

The Mitchell Slater Foundation Scholarship honours the legacy of Mitchell Slater, a 15 year old who died by suicide in 2017.
The Foundation was created the following year by his family and close friends to help raise awareness and end stigma surrounding mental health.
Our vision in creating this scholarship is to provide opportunity and invest in the potential of all students regardless of academic achievement.
The scholarship is available to all students in all school districts. We would like students to be creative in using whatever skills or talents they may have.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 This is not an academic based scholarship.

Application process: To be considered for this scholarship, tell us your story, who you are, what your dreams and goals are, and what the funds would be used for. If you have a memory of Mitchell, or if you or someone close to you has been impacted by a mental health issue, we encourage you to share how it has impacted your life. You can submit your story in whatever way you'd like - a letter. a video. collage, create something. Want to go into carpentry? Build your application, draw up some plans! Are you into Photography? Make a slideshow! Get the idea? All formats accepted. Examples of prior applications we have received are: poetry, slideshows, short film, artwork, letter

Schulich Leader Scholarships

Schulich Leader Scholarships are Canada’s most coveted undergraduate STEM scholarships.
 
Up to one hundred are awarded to entrepreneurial-minded high school graduates enrolling in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math program at 20 partner universities across Canada. Half are valued at $100,000 for engineering scholarships and half are valued at $80,000* for science and math scholarships.
 
Every high school in Canada can nominate one graduating student each year to apply for the scholarship.

Student eligibility criteria:

Graduate high school or cégep in the 2021/2022 academic year
Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
Plan to enroll in an eligible STEM program at one of our partner universities (view eligible programs at schulichleaders.com/universities)

Meet the following criteria:

Academic excellence, AND
Leadership, charisma and creativity.
*Strong consideration will be given to students with financial need.
Be entrepreneurial-minded and intend to pursue a career in one or more of the following focus areas:
Technology;
Engineering;
Entrepreneurship and business enterprise;
Applied scientific research.
We are NOT considering students who:
Focus on activism (environmental/political/societal)
Intend to become a practicing physician and/or medical researcher (e.g. Doctor, Dentist, Nurse, Psychologist, Pharmacist, Optometrist, etc.)
Intend to become a Professor and conduct theoretical research

Our scholarship provides access to BC public universities, colleges and trade schools and enables promising Grade 12 BC students to achieve their dreams.
  • 110 scholarships offered in 2021
  • $40,000 per student / 4-year undergraduate degree

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Intent: Plan to be a full-time student and use the funding for post-secondary education..

Institution: Apply to one of the twenty-five BC post-secondary institutions or trade schools.

Financial Adversity: Demonstrate your and/or your family's financial adversity, and how it has affected you.

Engagement: Receive endorsement from your secondary school and a community organization.

Sunshine Society 2021 Scholarship

Sunshine Society is excited to give back by providing   financial recognition  to a student who shows extensive leadership within the community, has faced or currently faces adversities, and faces financial hardships.​
This is the first time that Sunshine Society has come out with this opportunity and we are looking forward to offering this opportunity annually!

The scholarship requires that candidates are currently in the 12th grade at a secondary school in the Metro-Vancouver region and is confirmed to be attending an accredited Canadian post-secondary institute. Candidates must demonstrate strong community involvement, possess the motivation for a bright future in the face of adversity, and be facing financial hardships.

To qualify for a $250 scholarship on behalf of Sunshine Society, the student will be required to meet the following criteria:

  • Currently in the 12th grade (Class of 2022)
  • Enrolled in a secondary school in the Metro-Vancouver region
  • Confirmed to be attending an accredited Canadian post-secondary institute 
  • Demonstrates strong community involvement 
  • Has faced and overcome adversity
  • Is currently in the state of financial hardship
Applicants are required to complete the following:​
  • Applicant Information - Full name, mailing address, phone number, email address, Instagram username, and the name and mailing address of your secondary school 
  • Follow Sunshine Society on Instagram @sunshinesociety.bc
  • Applicants must write their responses to the following prompts (250 words minimum, 750 words maximum):
  1. Describe a situation when you faced an obstacle or adversity (and how you overcame it).
  2. Who is someone you look up to as your role model and why?
  3. Describe a person or an event in your life that shaped you somehow.
Additional criteria to consider:​
In the event that you are chosen as the recipient, you must be prepared to provide us with
  • Proof of admission by August 2022 - before the amount is paid
  • Provide consent to media release
  • Be prepared to provide a statement following the declaration of being named the recipient
  • Provide us with a follow-up statement 1 year after being declared the recipient​​​
Note - there is no “application form” to complete. Please provide your responses and applicant information on a separate document as a PDF.

RBC Future Launch Scholarship for Indigenous Youth

:Are you an Indigenous youth in Canada looking to pursue post-secondary education? The RBC Future Launch Scholarship for Indigenous Youth could help you achieve your post-secondary goals. Apply today!
The RBC Future Launch Scholarship for Indigenous Youth will award 20 scholarships annually valued up to $10,000 each per year (up to 4 years) to First Nations, Inuit and Métis students across Canada demonstrating strong academic performance and community involvement.
RBC has been providing a scholarship for Indigenous students to complete post-secondary education since 1992. To date, more than $1.8 million dollars have been awarded to 198 Indigenous youth across Canada pursuing post-secondary education.
Eligibility
  • Students who self-identify as Status Indian*, a Non-Status Indian, Inuit or Métis
  • You are a permanent resident or citizen of Canada
  • You have applied or are currently attending an accredited post-secondary institution in Canada
  • You maintain a full course load that leads to a recognized degree, certificate or diploma
  • You have shown strong potential to successfully complete the post-secondary program
  • You require financial assistance to pursue your education
  • You are not an RBC employee or a dependent of an RBC employee
*Indian as defined in Section 2(1) of the Indian Act

Eligible Institutions: Canadian educational institutions which have recognized provincial degree/diploma-granting powers, or their affiliates (e.g. vocational schools, colleges, universities)
Field of Study/Program
  • There are no restrictions on the discipline or field of study
  • The program must be a minimum of one year in duration
  • University preparatory programs in any jurisdiction are not eligible

The RBC Future Launch Scholarship will be awarded to those who show a clear vision for their future.
  • For Canadian youth between 15-29 years old
  • Enrolled part time in school or not in school at all
  • A Canadian Citizen or Permanent resident
