BCCPAC Educational Award

The BCCPAC Educational Award is granted annually to a well-rounded student in Grade 12 who is involved and interested in many things and has an understanding of the importance of parent involvement in education. The student must be from a school that has a PAC that is a member of BCCPAC.


Important:  Children of current BCCPAC board members, staff, or contractors are not eligible to apply for this award.

This provincial award is in the amount $500.

Completed applications must be received by the BCCPAC office by February 28th each year.

David Lam/BC Teal Foundation Scholarship

Criteria
  • Graduating B.C. Grade 12 student who wishes to attend a post-secondary institution;
  • ESL coursework at the secondary level [grades nine to twelve];
  • Consistent improvement in academic courses at the secondary level;
  • School or community service

Schulich Leader Scholarship

Canadian Schulich Leader Scholarships are undergraduate scholarships for students intending to enroll in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) areas of study at a minimum of one of the 20 selected universities.

All Canadian high schools and secondary schools (not including Québec) may submit one Schulich Leader Nominee each. Cégeps (in Québec) may select two nominees each. Schulich Leader Nominees are selected by their individual schools and must possess at least two of three criteria:

1.     Outstanding community, business or entrepreneurial leadership
2.     Academic excellence
3.     Financial need 

Students interested in being nominated for this scholarship, must have a chart of activities submitted to Ms. Jew early December.

UBC Major Entrance Scholarship

UBC is looking for the most accomplished and promising Canadian citizens and permanent residents to join our community. The Major Entrance Scholarship (MES) program offers the most prestigious awards available to entering students at UBC, including a one-time award of approximately $5,000 and renewable awards of up to $40,000 payable over four years.

These scholarships recognize students who excel across the board and who have demonstrated academic and leadership achievements in the arts, community, athletics, and school.

Re/Max Quest for Excellence

What is RE/MAX Quest for Excellence? The Quest for Excellence Program is a bursary program for grade 12 students in Western Canada.  It was established by RE/MAX of Western Canada to recognize the success and ongoing pursuits of Western Canadian students in regards to leadership and community contribution initiatives.

What is awarded? RE/MAX of Western Canada will award 16 bursaries of $1,000 each to qualifying Grade 12 students.  In addition, the 16 bursary winners will be entered into a draw and one lucky recipient will receive a RE/MAX Hot Air Balloon ride for two. Bursary winners will be notified and all winners will be posted in April 2015.

Who Can Participate? The Quest for Excellence is open to all Grade 12 students attending high school from September, 2014 - March, 2015. Grade 12 students may not have participated in graduation commencement ceremonies in the past. Applicants must be a resident of one of the following provinces/territories.

    British Columbia
    Alberta
    Saskatchewan
    Manitoba
    Yukon Territory

What is Required? Students are to convey the contributions they have made to their communities in a short online essay, maximum 1,250 words. Key qualities students should demonstrate are leadership, motivation and communication skills.  Other attributes may include volunteering, participation in charitable events or fundraising, and contributions that enrich the lives of others and their communities.

Note: All entries become the property of RE/MAX of Western Canada and photos and names of winners may be used in print publications and media.
