SOAR Philanthropic Society is a youth led non profit organization, providing scholarships and educational resources to local high school students. Since 2012, SOAR has given out over $50,000 in scholarship funds. This year the organization will be giving out over $35,000 in scholarship funds to graduating students for the categories of academics, adversity, arts, entrepreneurship, health and mindfulness, leadership, law and social justice, sports, trades, and more. Each scholarship is $1,000. Students can apply at www.soarps.org by May 31, 2019. Furthermore, SOAR is holding its annual leadership conference, SOAR Summit at the Surrey campus of Simon Fraser University on June 15, 2019. Students will get the opportunity to listen to leading professionals from various industries. Students will also engage in numerous workshops and activities focused on community involvement, financial literacy, and leadership. Students can register at www.soarps.org.
