Application Deadline. The Herbaland Charity Scholarship (5 x $1000 awards) will be awarded to five Lower mainland students who demonstrate excellent performance in academics, leadership, and charitable involvement. The recipient of this award shares the core value with Herbaland of giving back to the community, and dedicates time and effort to improving the community in which they are involved through volunteering and leadership roles with charitable and service organizations. Scholarship Criteria: Minimum requirement of an 86% cumulative average in grades 11 and 12 Dedication to volunteer involvement with a charitable or service organization Demonstrated leadership within the school and community Written personal statement addressed to the Herbaland Scholarship Committee. Statement will be 300-500 words detailing why the applicant should be considered (e.g., length of time involved in X charity, why this organization is important to the applicant, leadership roles, what was learned and how this will help in the future, as well as other notable contributions in leadership. etc.) Letter from school principal, vice principal, or counsellor confirming the student’s cumulative marks average in grades 11 and 12. Reference letter and contact information from a charity or volunteer organizer/sponsor that the student is involved with.
