SHEELAH J. GRASSWICK MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship has been established by Mrs. Sheelah Grasswick’s family in recognition of her lifelong interest in education and the community. Mrs. Grasswick served as a Delta School District Trustee from November 1989 until her death in September 1998.
Details of the scholarship are as follows:
• Awarded annually in the amount of $1500.00.
• Available to all graduating students in School District #37, Delta, who plan to enroll in a full time post secondary program leading to a degree.
• Awarded to a student who has proven scholastic ability and has shown interest and commitment to their community.
• The scholarship can be held for 15 months following graduation from grade 12.

KEN SOTVEDT MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship has been established by Mr. Ken Sotvedt’s family in recognition of his life long passion and interest in education, music and the community
Details of the scholarship are as follows:
• Awarded annually in the amount of $500.00
• Available to all graduating students in School District #37, Delta, who have the intent on pursuing a career in music
• Awarded to a student who possesses strong musical ability and interest
• The scholarship can be held for 15 months following graduation from grade 12

Delta Foundation Annual Award
Worth: $1,000.00
Eligibility criteria:
- A Grade 12 student wishing to pursue post-secondary education, in any field.
- Must have volunteered or provided service within the community of Delta.

- The Scholarship can be held for 15 months following graduation from grade 12

The Margaret and Les Callan Fund Award
The Margaret and Les Callan Fund will award two Scholarships this year for $983.00
each. One will be offered to a student at South Delta Secondary and the other will be to
a student at Delta Secondary.
Eligibility criteria:
- A Grade 12 student intending to study and take training in visual arts at a
- Must have volunteered or provided service within the community of Delta.
- Evidence of some financial need. The recipient has up to one year to choose the institution.

The Hollinger Fund Award
The Hollinger Fund will award one Scholarship this year for $12,000.00. The
scholarship will be paid over the term of the degree course. Each year the recipient is
responsible for providing proof of attendance at the post – secondary institute to the
Delta School District for the funds to be disbursed to the post-secondary institute.
Eligibility criteria:
• Must be a Delta resident.
• Must have attended a Delta Secondary School from Grade 8 to 12.
• Must meet graduation requirements.
• Must have in the opinion of a selections committee, established by Trustees of
Delta School District, displayed good work ethics and community involvement.
• Must have been accepted at an accredited University or Community College into
a program leading to a degree, preferably in the arts.
• The recipient has up to one year to choose the institution.

DELTA RETIRED TEACHERS’ ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP 2024
The Delta Retired Teachers’ Association is pleased to offer two Scholarships of $1,500 to two qualifying graduating Grade 12 students from the seven secondary schools in Delta
Eligibility Criteria:
The successful applicant will meet these criteria:
1. Must be preparing for a career in Education (teaching or related field).
2. Graduate with a ‘B’ average in Grade 11 and 12 courses from a Delta secondary school with a minimum ’C+’ in English 11 and 12
3. Must have been enrolled full‐time in Delta School District #37 for grades 10, 11 and 12.
4. Must have both volunteered and provided leadership within the community and their school in Grades 11 and 12. See the Scholarship Selection Guidelines attached.
5. Must submit proof of attendance at a post secondary institution to receive this scholarship.
Scholarship Submission:
Students will submit completed application documents to their school counsellor. They must include:
1. Student Information document.
2. Summary of your activities and accomplishments. (use included template)
3. Cover letter explaining why you are a good candidate for this award.
4. Reference letter from one of your teachers in grade 12.
5. The most recent transcript of your marks.
