Douglas College’s English-language proficiency requirement is based on both the course grade and provincial exam mark for English 12 with minimum grade of "C" or Communications 12 minimum grade of "B". However, the prerequisite for registering into English or Communications or Creative Writing courses is English 12 with a minimum B grade based on both the course grade and provincial exam mark. Students who have lower than a "B" grade in English 12 will need to upgrade or write and pass the Douglas College Writing assessment prior to registering into these courses.
Foundations of Math 11 with a minimum grade of "C" will meet the requirements for most programs including admission requirements to universities however; students applying to a Science or University Transfer Business program will need to complete their Pre-calculus 12 with a minimal grade of "B". Students with lower than a "B" must write a Math assessment (pre-calculus or calculus readiness) prior to registration. Douglas College offers upgrading courses in mathematics.
