The Bursaries are primarily awarded due to financial need. Priority is given
to children, grand children and great grandchildren of veterans. A veteran
is defined by the Royal Canadian Legion as "Any person who is serving or has
honorably served in the Canadian Armed Forces, the Commonwealth or its
wartime allies, or as a Regular Member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police,
or as a Peace Officer in a Special Duty Area or on a Special Duty Operation,
or who has served in the Merchant Navy or Ferry Command during wartime"
New Description of Award to Delta Secondary
The Royal Canadian Legions Mission is to serve Veterans and their families,
to promote remembrance and to serve our communities and our country. These
awards go to deserving members of the graduating class who exhibit a
willingness to pursue post secondary education at college, vocational school
or university. Priority is given to children, grand children or great

Four $1000 Bursaries are to be awarded.
