Tidbits of Change Bursary

TIDBITS OF CHANGE FOUNDATION BURSARY
This is the second year our Tidbits of Change Foundation is offering youth bursaries towards post-secondary education plans.  Our foundation is focused on encouraging Canadian youth to take on passion projects in collaboration with a parent or mentor.  We have one $5000 youth bursary and two $1000 youth bursaries available annually - to be awarded to the most inspiring projects or adventures we hear about through our bursary application process.
The projects that inspired the formation of the Tidbits of Change Foundation came about from initiatives started with my own children - a cross-Canada 15-year cycling adventure and an annual busking initiative that raises money for local causes in selected cities.  I believe our stories and the bursary award winners' stories from this past year will be of interest to parents and youths alike - maybe the stories will inspire a fantastic youth and parent/mentor collaboration project with one of your students - or maybe they have already initiated something that is worthy of bursary consideration.
Details on the Tidbits of Change Foundation and the bursaries can be found at www.tidbitsofchange.org
Details on the 3 youths and their bursary awards from this past year can be found here -

Book event in Tsawwassen on Tuesday, Dec. 10th from 4pm-7pm - at the Coast Tsawwassen Inn. The focus is on the father and son cycling adventure across Canada and to encourage youths and parents to consider their own initiatives.  If any parent, teacher, PAC, or student is interested - I will be fully available that day to discuss the bursaries or answer any questions.  I've attached an informational poster about the event that you are welcome to pass along.
Tuesday, December 19, 4-7pm
See attached poster

Youth Bursaries
Initiatives
Any Canadian teenaged youth who has created or developed a meaningful initiative, a community effort, or an inspirational shared adventure with a parent/mentor, can apply to be considered for post-secondary education bursaries. Submissions will be evaluated on:

The inspirational impact of the initiative or story behind the project
The benefits obtained through the collaboration process of youths and parents/mentors working together
The awareness and support that was built for a local, national, or global issue – or need that the applicant has identified and is passionate about
The positive, feel-good moments and messages that were generated out of the initiative
Needs based elements outlined in the application will also be taken into consideration
Applications open Dec 15
